Despite the constant demands of modern life, it is important to make time for yourself. Incorporating a beauty and wellness routine in your everyday life is essential in order for you to feel your best, while doing your best.

According to a study conducted by Medibank, just under 5 million Australian’s are suffering from stress (That’s nearly 20%!). And to reduce stress and improve your own well-being, one of the best places to start is a beauty routine!

So, whether you are a beauty and wellness newbie or extraordinaire, here are our top four ways to boost your beauty and wellness routine!

Choose to Move

 

We know, you’ve heard it all before: Exercise is a great way to boost endorphins (otherwise known as feel good hormones) and energy levels. Problem is, many of us find ourselves too busy to workout. Now, what if we told you that you didn’t need to set aside an hour long sweat sesh in order to feel an endorphin boost?

Low impact workouts such as yoga and barre are a great way to unwind mentally while also giving your body a much-needed energy boost.

Yoga is renowned for improving relaxation levels with its meditation-based focus. We recommend booking yourself into a hot yoga class to make the most out of relaxing and burning calories.

Barre is another great way to move your body without strenuous activity. By incorporating exercises based on ballet techniques, you will no doubt look beautiful while achieving that feel-good workout burn.

Short on time to book a class? There are plenty of beginner to advanced workouts available on YouTube that you can do in the comfort of your own home. Or better yet, turn up the music and have a boogie while getting a much-needed endorphin boost!

Of course, beauty is more than skin deep, however it is never a bad thing to want to look after your own skin.

With Australia having one of the highest skin cancer rates in the world it is important to prioritise the use of SPF products in your everyday beauty and wellness routine. Remember, a good skincare routine looks after more than just your face. So, make sure you also grab yourself a high SPF sunblock and apply it generously to your body throughout the day. Preventing unwanted wrinkles and skin cancer is always a good idea.

The best way to boost your beauty and wellness routine is to boost your fruit and vegetable intake. If your insides are as nourished as your freshly moisturised skin, you will no doubt feel energised and ready to tackle whatever life throws at you. And let’s not forget that good nutrition will also give your skin a natural glow (it really is a win-win).

An easy way to make sure you are fuelling your body and mind is to increase the amount of natural colour in your shopping trolley. Some of our favourites include blueberries with its antioxidant properties, nuts and seeds for needed energy, in season citruses for a Vitamin C boost and avocados as a source of healthy fat.


Treat Yourself

 

In the midst of a hectic day, week or even month, it’s easy to forget to make time for yourself. If you aren’t prioritising your needs, daily stressors may become overwhelming and have a negative impact on your physical and mental well-being.

This is a reminder to make time for you.

Treating yourself should be the foundation of your beauty and wellness routine. If you adopt an attitude of wellness and choose to take care of yourself daily, you will be strong enough to conquer anything!
