Youth workers play an important role in helping to support, nurture and shape the future of youth within our communities.

Jobs and Skills WA define a youth worker as someone who “helps young people develop the skills to make positive changes in their lives.” They do this by providing a range of services to youth depending on their individual issues. These services can include:

  • Accommodation
  • Training
  • Education
  • Employment
  • Counselling

Youth workers can also organise community education and recreation programs on behalf of local governments and advocate for young people on public issues such as health and education.
