You’ll receive a strong foundation in information technology and learn how to provide troubleshooting, give support and implement system security.

This course is a great fit for anyone who wants to be competent in administering a range of networked computer systems.

  • How to provide general IT support to organisations and businesses;
  • How to offer solutions to IT requests;
  • The skills to manage the day-to-day operations of IT systems to ensure they run effectively;
  • How to formulate a disaster recovery and contingency plan;
  • How to repair any faults and minimise system failures.

You will study online at your own paceYou’ll be required to complete written, practical and oral assignments. Learning is self-paced over a 12-month period with opportunity to extend if required. You’ll receive full trainer support during your studies.

This is a 12 month qualification.

TrainSmart Australia will assess a student’s ‘academic suitability’ to ensure the student has the best chance of success. This is determined by either:

  • The student providing TrainSmart Australia with a copy of an Australian year 12 certificate; or,
  • The student providing TrainSmart Australia with a copy of a Certificate IV qualification (or above) that can be verified or,
  • The student completing the Core Skills Profile for Adults online assessment passing at or above Exit Level 3 in the Australian Core Skills Framework in both reading and numeracy.

There is a growing demand for competent IT professionals, with possible roles including computer technician, help desk officer, IT technician or database administrator.
