Depending on your course of interest entry requirements may apply. To understand if entry requirements apply to your course please visit the course page located under the ‘Courses’ tab as appearing on the TSA home page and then selecting your course of interest. In addition to this, TrainSmart Australia will check your academic suitability to ensure you have the best chance of success.
Student entry requirements
TrainSmart Australia will assess a student’s ‘academic suitability’ to ensure the student has the best chance of success. This is determined by either:
The student providing TrainSmart Australia with a copy of an Australian Year 12 certificate; or, the student providing TrainSmart Australia with a copy of Certificate IV qualification (or above); or, the student completing the Core Skills Profile for Adults online assessment passing at or above Exit Level 3 in the Australian Core Skills Framework in both reading and numeracy.
In addition to the entry requirements, the College will consider whether the student applying to enrol is academically suited to undertake the course, and demonstrates the capacity to meet the demands of their chosen course. Student academic suitability is determined through a one to one career counselling session where the student is invited to provide details of their previous work history and/or prior education relevant to the course. The student will be advised whether he or she is considered to be academically suited, or alternative study pathways may be offered.
Reading and Numeracy Test
Our reading and numeracy test has been developed by the Australian Council for Education Research and will measure your level of numeracy and literacy. It is a government approved testing tool. You will be asked to complete this assessment with honesty and integrity. It can be done online in the comfort of your own home. We will let you know the results as soon as possible.
