Category: Make-up Courses

Wednesday the 13th December 2017 was a day to celebrate for Trainsmart Australia’s second intake of Students of the Diploma of Screen and Media.

Fourteen very proud individuals ranging in age from 18 to 46 attended Huzzards Studio in Pier Street Perth along with their family, friends, lecturers and sponsors to accept their Diplomas.

Huzzards Studio was decked out “Runway Style” for the students to show off their talents to the family and friends that attended. Their showcase was entitled “History Repeating” where they took notable Eras, Characters or traditional cultures and added their own twist to them and organised models where they styled them to their chosen theme.

CEO and founder of Trainsmart Australia Surinder Randhawa welcomed guests and offered her congratulations to the students and the trainers. The Trainers Shannon Murphy and Manuao TeAotonga then provided the guests with a summary of the past year, pointing out that the Students had worked hard to have achieved their diploma which is currently Australia’s highest qualification in Makeup and that this diploma is only the beginning of their journey within the makeup Industry.

One by one all students were greeted by their Trainer and presented with their Diploma and walked the Runway for a photograph opportunity for their family. Once all Diplomas were awarded, Shannon and Manuao announced the ‘Student of the Year’. This award is given to the most deserving student that has worked hard, contributed to class, been a team player, took feedback on board, puts their hand up for every work experience or task , remains positive and is always the professional makeup artist representing us as artists as well as Trainsmart Australia the organisation keep our reputation in tact at every opportunity. The winner from each class needs to embody everything we stand for as makeup artists and professionals in our industry. The winners were Jessica Leat and Sinead Power. Not only did they receive an award but they received a photoshoot with International Fashion Photographer Aaron McPolin and other products provided by Sponsors Wasp Hair and International Salon Supplies.

Students and guests mingled and celebrated with Sparkling wine and canapes while DJ Dlyte spun some tunes on her deck to entertain everyone until the end of the night.

An incredibly successful and emotional evening for many as 2017 draws to a close.
