“Breath out, breath out, breath out”
John Rich is our Diploma of Counselling trainer here at TrainSmart Australia. Coming to us with 10 years industry experience, John has spent his career working with people who have experience trauma. With people who have been willing and courageous to share their story with another person, and the amazing stories of survival and resilience, of selflessness has been the most beautiful and rewarding experience. John says, “I’m eternally grateful for this shared experience.”
In the past, John has worked for companies like Relationships Australia, working with children, families and perpetrators of domestic violence, and the Royal Commission Support Services for survivors of childhood sexual abuse. He has spent his time as a counsellor, trainer, aboriginal health service officer for Wiluna, Lifeline, Blue Knot Foundation, Holyoake Drug and Alcohol groups, and many more.
When asked about what he loves most about teaching the Diploma of Counselling, John said “I love the gift of psychology and philosophy intertwined in the human experience; There is so much love and beauty in humanity and loss – to bring that to students, to others has been a career highlight, a highlight in my life.”
John has been paramount to injecting his love and passion for counselling into our curriculum, paving the way for bigger and better training here at TrainSmart Australia.
