Lorraine joined TrainSmart Australia in 2014 as a trainer and co-head of faculty for our Business & Management faculty.
Lorraine has a BA (Hons) Business, Marketing and Management degree. When she graduated, she took up a position with Telstra. Her career in this large commercial organisation gave Lorraine extensive knowledge of business, management and leadership. However, when Lorraine had children, she decided to steer herself in a new direction as a mentor and trainer.
When talking about her position as a trainer, Lorraine said;
“Work doesn’t feel like ‘work’ for me, as I get a real buzz from mentoring others and watching them flourish.
Everyone has great potential and my role is to see them develop from ‘good to great’. I tell all my students that ‘they should find something which they love to do in life and then get someone to pay them to do it.’ I certainly did!”
Lorraine has completed her Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, which was an online course mixed with some face to face.
“This gave me a really good insight into online learning, and has added to my belief that you can successfully complete a course online.”
After completing her Certificate IV, Lorraine became a contract trainer and worked for various Registered Training Organisations.
“I have a passion for helping people achieve their career aspirations and, as a result, enjoying a better quality of life. My catchphrase is ‘everyone can achieve anything if they put their mind to it’. People should never fear learning, but embrace it instead. I am here to help them through that learning process every step of the way.”
